At The McCourt Foundation, we are proud to work with over 125+ charity partners who use our races as a platform for incredible change. Among these organizations is Angel City Pit Bulls (ACPB), a partner that has turned the simple act of running into a lifeline for one of the most misunderstood dog breeds in Los Angeles.
A Partnership Powered by the Community
For Angel City Pit Bulls, the Charity Partner Program is more than just a fundraising opportunity, it is what keeps the organization afloat. As a volunteer-driven organization, the money raised through the marathon serves as their main fundraiser.
These funds have allowed ACPB to achieve a massive milestone: opening and sustaining their very own shelter in Los Angeles. This local impact is only possible because of the dedication of the runners and donors who participate in our events.
More Than Just Adoption
Angel City Pit Bulls works directly with LA City shelters to provide a better future for pit bull–type dogs and kittens. Their mission focuses on several key areas:
Advocacy: Working to change perceptions and provide a voice for dogs that are often overlooked.
Education: Helping the public understand the breed and the importance of responsible ownership.
Ongoing Support: Ensuring that once a dog or kitten finds a home, the family has the resources they need to succeed.
Every Step Counts
When you join the Charity Partner Program to run for ACPB, you aren’t just crossing a finish line; you are helping to keep a vital volunteer organization in business. Every mile run and every dollar raised goes directly toward advocacy, adoptions, and the daily operations of their shelter.
We are honored to have Angel City Pit Bulls in our charity family. Their story is a perfect example of how the ASICS Los Angeles Marathon can bring the city together to support local organizations that make our community a better place for everyone, including our four-legged friends.
