At The McCourt Foundation, our mission is to empower communities to build a healthier world. We believe that health is not just about physical wellness. This is why we are incredibly proud to partner with Public Counsel, a nonprofit law firm advancing civil rights and justice in Los Angeles and beyond. 

Public Counsel does more than provide free legal services. When broken systems stack the odds against people, they turn to Public Counsel. Through direct legal support and advocacy, Public Counsel partners with communities to secure justice and create lasting change. 

Advocacy in Action 

For many of our charity partners, the ASICS Los Angeles Marathon and the LA 5K are opportunities to turn physical endurance into social action. Public Counsel utilizes our Charity Partner Program to fuel their mission of ensuring that justice is accessible to all, not just those who can afford it. This includes veterans, children, immigrant communities and families facing housing instability. 

Their work spans a wide range of critical issues: 

• Defending Civil Rights: Protecting fundamental rights and challenging systems that perpetuate discrimination and inequality. 

• Advancing Economic Justice: Supporting individuals, small businesses, and nonprofits while addressing unfair practices that undermine financial stability for communities. 

•   Supporting Children, Youth, and Families: Working to keep families together and ensure children have access to quality education, stability, and opportunity.
