Event Postponement FAQ's

Title Border Bottom

Click here to read our full update on the postponement of the 2025 Rose Bowl Half Marathon & 5K.

Why is the event being postponed?

The decision to postpone the event was made to prioritize the health and safety of participants, volunteers, and the community due to the impact of the recent fires and air quality in Pasadena and around Los Angeles County. Beyond safety concerns, the event would place further strain on local resources and the Rose Bowl, the location of the half-marathon, is currently being used as an operations center for local, regional and national emergency agencies.

When will the event be rescheduled?

As of January 29, the event is rescheduled for Sunday, April 27, 2025.

Will my registration be valid for the rescheduled date?

All participants must confirm by February 9 if they want to participate in person at the Rose Bowl on April 27 or participate virtually.

What if I’m unable to participate on the rescheduled date?

If you are unable to participate in person, you may opt to participate virtually anytime through Sunday, April 27.

How will virtual participation work?

If you purchased Refund Protect through Haku, they will be able to assist you in their refund process. You will find a link to their refund request form in your confirmation email.

What about travel and lodging accommodations?

Participants who have booked travel and/or accommodations should check with their providers regarding cancellation or rescheduling policies. Many providers offer flexible options in unforeseen circumstances, such as these.

Will there be opportunities to help the local community?

In response to the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles County, The McCourt Foundation, operators of the Los Angeles Marathon, has launched Together LA, an impactful initiative uniting the running community to provide critical financial assistance to those directly impacted by the wildfires.

Here's how we're making an impact:

  • Donating Essential Supplies: We've delivered water, electrolytes, and other necessities to those in need.
  • Food Drives: Hosted food drives at our Los Angeles Road Runners Meet-Up locations.
  • Fundraising and Donating Critical Funds to those directly impacted through our Together LA initiative.
  • Planning Long-Term Support: The 2025 Los Angeles Marathon and Rose Bowl Half Marathon will feature initiatives to unite our community, raise funds, and provide ongoing aid to wildfire recovery efforts.

Together LA is an initiative that offers a way to come together and provide critical financial assistance to those directly impacted by the wildfires and our first responders. Direct donations will be made to: Community Organized Relief Effort (CORE) and California Fire Foundation (supporting LA and Pasadena).

How You Can Help

By purchasing limited-edition Together LA merchandise, you’ll directly support wildfire relief efforts. 100% of the net-proceeds* will be donated to aid those who need it most.

Why Your Support Matters

  • Every dollar makes a difference: Donations will be directed to the Community Organized Relief Effort or CORE and California Fire Foundation, ensuring immediate and effective impact.
  • A strong start: The McCourt Foundation has kickstarted this initiative with an initial $25,000 donation. Your purchase will amplify this impact and extend relief to more individuals and families.

How You Can Take Action

  • Shop the collection
  • Spread the word: Share this initiative with friends and family to rally even more support

Together, we will make a difference. TOGETHER LA!

When will I receive my Rose Bowl Loyal Swag?

All participants who qualify for Rose Bowl Loyal will receive their respective swag with their bib.

Will any additional registrations be made available for the 2025 Rose Bowl Half Marathon or 5K?

We are working on this and will announce any additional registration options as soon as possible on our website, social media, and via email.

Rose Bowl Kids Run FAQ

Title Border Bottom

What age kids can participate in the Kids Run?

It is recommended for kids ages 3 – 8

How long is the course?

It is approximately 1/3 of a mile

Where does the Kids Run Start?

It will start at the main event start line outside the Rose Bowl Field.

Where does the Kids Run Finish?

The Rose Bowl Rush is a point to point that finishes at the main finish line on the Rose Bowl Field

What time does the Kids Run start?

The Rose Bowl Rush starts at 10:30 AM with the first wave. Kids should start lining up at 10:00 AM for warm ups and announcements. IMPORTANT: Parents and family members who do not want to run with their kids can go to the finish line to cheer them in, but they MUST be escorted there. Our PARENT ESCORTS will leave at 10:10am from the Kids Run start line.

How do the Waves work?

Children will be sent out in waves by age group - oldest in front, youngest in back – every 5 minutes. By sending the kids in groups by age, we make it a more safe and fun experience. Parents are encouraged to run with children 6 and under. Wave 1 is for children 7-8 years old. Wave 2 is for children 5-6 years old. Wave 3 is for children 4 and under

Can siblings or friends who are different ages run together?
Yes, they are welcome to run in the same wave together - it's up to you as the parent to decide which is the more appropriate wave. Children with less running experience will likely feel more comfortable with a younger age group that is a bit slower.
Why do I have two race bibs?
Each child will be given a participant race bib that must be pinned to the front of their clothing. There will be a matching “parent bib” for one parent to either wear or hold onto if they are on the course and when they leave the finish area with their child.
What if I want to run with my child?
We love when parents run with their kids and are welcome to run in any of the waves. We recommend a parent or guardian run with children 5 years and under. Please wear your “Parent Bib” when on the course.
What if I want to spectate at the Finish Line?
  • If your child is in Wave 1 (7-8 years old) and is comfortable running without you, you can meet them at the finish line.
  • After you bring your child in the start corral, look for the “Parent Escort” signs. The Parent Escort will leave exactly at 10:10am so you have enough time to walk the 1/3 mile course to the finish line. This is the most direct way to the finish line for spectators. Those who do not join the Parent Escort should plan to run with their child.
What happens after the kids race?

Once your child has crossed the finish line they will be directed into the Kids Reunion Corral next to the finish line. This is where spectating parents may reunite with their children.

Where will bib pick up be?

Kids Run bib pick up will be on Friday and Saturday before the race or race morning at the Solutions tent.

Are there other safety precautions?

This is a point to point course and sometimes kids and parents get separated. Take time before the Kids Run to discuss your plan – will you run with your child or meet them at the finish line? Write your cell number on the back of your child's bib. If you need help finding each other, come to the announcer’s stage or locate a staff person.
