Alisa's Tip: "Bring a throwaway sweater, talk to strangers, and have fun! And probably carpool"
Ari's Tip: "The last .2 miles feels like the hardest but it’s all mental! I push through because there’s a medal and that “marathoner” title waiting"
Denise's Tip: "Training for a marathon is a full transformation and you will become stronger both physically AND mentally"
Jalisa's Tip: "Race day should be treated like the celebration of all the months of hard work you put into training"
Jon's Tip: "If the idea of a marathon is intimidating, sign up and see what happens. You are more capable of amazing things than you might think"
Jonathan's Tip: "Register before it's too late. Every year, there's sob stories about "I was going to sign up." The race will sell out. Don't let the opportunity pass"
Jordan's Tip: "The hardest part is truly just getting to the start line. Believe in yourself and trust your journey"
Jose's Tip: "Join a running community or group of friends, train together and don't set any expectations for your first LA Marathon"
Justine's Tip: "Running a marathon is an incredible achievement, no matter your pace. Don't let comparison cloud your efforts"
Kelly's Tip: "Trust the process, trust the training and run your OWN race. This is you vs you"
Michelle's Tip: "¡entrena esas subidas (hills)! Aunque, siendo muy honesta, con la adrenalina del momento yo no las sentà tanto"
Monique's Tip: "Take in the neighborhoods, high-five the spectators, fuel early. Forward is forward. You do not have to be fast, you just have to keep going"
Patrick's Tip: "Soak it all in. High-five the SRLA kids, thank every volunteer, smile for the cameras, and take a moment to look around"
Rizzo's Tip: "The human spirit is so resilient, with a plan and adequate training, you too can cross the finish line"
Scotty's Tip: "Get to know the people around you and your community. Embrace the journey - it's easy to forget that when you're chasing a finish time"
Steve's Tip: "You don't wanna miss out seeing LA through the eyes of the running community and the support you get from the city"
Talia's Tip: "Join LARR! After 12 years of trying to break a PR, I finally did it by following Coach David's guidance and running with a pace group"
Taylor's Tip: "Come race day, or a normal workout day, you'll be met with happiness, tears, anger, disappointment. Just feel what you feel in that moment and hold space for it"
