We strive to cure neurological diseases. Alzheimer's is one of them.
Since 1992, this community has put $7.2 million directly into neurological research.
Every September, the world talks about Alzheimer's on purpose.
World Alzheimer's Month is an international awareness campaign held every September, with World Alzheimer's Day on the 21st. It exists because dementia is still surrounded by silence. Families wait too long to ask questions, and too many people face a diagnosis without knowing what comes next.
The 2026 theme is early diagnosis. The earlier you know, the more you can do. Knowing sooner means more time to plan, more treatment options, more chances to join research, and more of the conversations that matter while there is still time to have them.
Alzheimer's is a neurological disease, and striving to cure neurological diseases is at the heart of The McCourt Foundation's mission.

Behind the biggest number here are nearly 13 million people quietly caring for someone they love. If that is you, you are the reason this month exists.
For David, it’s personal.
David Stracener lost his mother to Alzheimer’s after a 10-year battle with the disease. Today, he runs in her honor with Team TMF, raising funds to support The McCourt Foundation’s mission to cure neurological diseases.
His wife, son, and daughter-in-law often join him on Team TMF. Together, they bring a deeply personal reason to the starting line.
“With TMF you’re not just running alone. You’re running together for something bigger.”

What this community has already built.
Neurological research is supported through the McCourt Foundation Neuroscience Fund at two of the country's leading medical institutions.
We also host free educational forums for anyone affected by neurological disease, including Alzheimer's, ALS, MS, and Parkinson's, led by leading neurologists. No cost, no catch.
Our next Neurological Symposium is Saturday, October 3, 2026 in Boston. It is free and open to the public.

How race weekend turns into research.
People often assume we are a race company that gives some money away. It is the other way around. We are a foundation that produces world-class events because they move our mission forward. Through participation and our fundraising programs, we are able to fund research and support vital programming in our community and beyond.
You show up
You register for a race, or you fundraise your entry through Team TMF. Either way, you are part of it.
You make a difference
Every step you take with us is helping to build a healthier world, including funding neurological research and supporting free public education like the Neurological Symposium. Alzheimer's research is a crucial part of what we do with your help.

Where to find us next.
September 21 is World Alzheimer's Day.
You do not have to wait for it. Pick one thing on this page and do it today. Fundraise, register, give, learn, or just send this to someone who needs it. Alzheimer's research is one part of our broader neurological research mission, and every part of it moves when you do.
Alzheimer's is one of many neurological diseases we strive to cure.
The McCourt Foundation Neuroscience Fund supports research across many disease states, and progress on any one of them moves our whole mission forward.
Our Charity Program is how the numbers get bigger than us.
Our research funding is one stream. The larger one is the Charity Program, where nonprofits of every kind partner with The McCourt Foundation, field teams of fundraisers at our events, and raise money for their own causes. Since 1992, that program has raised $81 million for 155 partner organizations across neurological disease, youth programs, health, and community causes. When you run one of our races, you are standing next to hundreds of people raising money for something they care about, and that is the whole point.
