The McCOURT Foundation

The McCourt Foundation is a family foundation located in Boston, MA founded by the seven sons of Robert and Mary McCourt. Robert and Mary McCourt were both victims of neurological diseases. For the last 18 years, the McCourt Family has been raising funds for neurologic research. The Foundation is partnered with the Center for Neurologic Diseases at Brigham and Women’s Hospital to raise money for the Center’s research focusing on Alzheimer’s disease and multiple sclerosis. The Center’s research teams, led by co-founders Dr. Dennis Selkoe and Dr. Howard Weiner, continue their research efforts into the causes and mechanisms of Alzheimer’s disease and MS. The doctors have each dedicated over 30 years to the study of these disorders and are internationally recognized for their original contributions to research in their respective fields.

Our mission is to first raise both corporate and philanthropic donations to support much needed research for Alzheimer’s disease and MS. Secondly, to provide medical updates and seminars to help educate the patients and caregivers who are currently faced with the day-to-day challenges of these diseases. Lastly, we will create a greater general public awareness of Alzheimer’s and MS.
