Race Update (January 29, 2025)

Following the recent wildfires that impacted Los Angeles and Pasadena, we made the decision to postpone the 2025 Rose Bowl Half Marathon & 5K

We are pleased to announce that the race has been rescheduled and will now take place on Sunday, April 27, 2025.

We understand that this change may affect your plans, and we want to provide you with options to ensure your participation remains a positive experience. You may choose to:

  • Participate in person on the new race date at the Rose Bowl
  • Participate virtually and complete the race on your own schedule by April 27, anywhere in the world, through our official digital platform partner Sprintcrowd.

Participants must confirm their choice by filling in the form emailed to them by Sunday, February 9.

Please scroll down to read our FAQ and answers to all your questions.

Race Update (January 10, 2025)

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this challenging time. We are deeply grateful for your commitment to this event and look forward to seeing you—whether in person or virtually—on April 27.

Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone impacted by the ongoing fires in and around the City of Pasadena and the greater Los Angeles area.

Due to the fires, the impact on air quality, the strain on local resources, and the host venue currently serving as an operations center for first responders, we have made the decision to postpone the Rose Bowl Half Marathon & 5K scheduled for January 19, 2025. The well-being of our participants, volunteers, and community is at the heart of every decision we make. We also hold deep respect for the emergency personnel and first responders who are working tirelessly to protect our community. We recognize that the postponement may come as a disappointment to some, and we truly appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate these unforeseen and difficult circumstances.

At this time, we are actively working with our partners at the Rose Bowl on rescheduling the Rose Bowl Half Marathon & 5K and while we do not yet have a new date, we will share updates with participants and the community via email, our website, and social media as soon as they become available.

If you have any immediate questions, please reach out to us at solutions@mccourtfoundation.org.

Thank you for your continued support of the Rose Bowl Half Marathon & 5K. We stand with everyone affected by the fires and we look forward to seeing you at the Start Line at a future date, under safer and more favorable conditions.

  • Donating Essential Supplies: We've delivered water, electrolytes, and other necessities to those in need.
  • Food Drives: Hosted food drives at our Los Angeles Road Runners Meet-Up locations.
  • Fundraising and Donating Critical Funds to those directly impacted through our Together LA initiative.
  • Planning Long-Term Support: The 2025 Los Angeles Marathon and Rose Bowl Half Marathon will feature initiatives to unite our community, raise funds, and provide ongoing aid to wildfire recovery efforts.

Together LA is an initiative that offers a way to come together and provide critical financial assistance to those directly impacted by the wildfires and our first responders. Direct donations will be made to: Community Organized Relief Effort (CORE) and California Fire Foundation (supporting LA and Pasadena).

Yes!! Children who are registered for the 2025 Rose Bowl Kids Run but can't make it to the in-person event on Sunday, April 27,  can still participate virtually anywhere, any time!
Here's how:
Parents/guardians, please send an email to solutions@mccourtfoundation.org by April 26 to let us know your child will participate virtually (please note this option is for the Kids Run only, not the 5K or Half Marathon)
Plan to pick up their bib, shirt, and medal at the McCourt Foundation offices beginning May 6 at one of the dates and times listed below:
Tuesday, May 6: 10am – 2pm
Wednesday, May 7: 4pm – 6pm

Saturday, May 10: 10am – 2pm
Tuesday, May 13: 10am – 2pm
Wednesday, May 14: 4pm – 6pm
Make it fun! Create a route of any distance for your child. You can set it up in your back yard, neighborhood, local park, or school track. Encourage them to wear their event shirt and bib, then get ready to cheer them along the way.
