When is the Boston Waterfront 5K?

The 2025 Boston Waterfront 5K is June 15, 2025. 

What distances do you have?
  • 5K run/walk
  • Youth 100M Dash
What is the course?

What is the age limit to participate?
  • Youth races are 12 & under
  • No limit for the 5k
Do you have Gear Check?

No, there is no gear check at the Boston Waterfront 5k

Can my family/friends come to the start line? Finish line? Cheer on course?

Yes!

Do you have race hospitality?

Participants can purchase access to the VIP tent during registration. 

Do you have Age Group Awards?

Medals will be given to top overall male, female and non-binary and by age group:

  • 16 to 19
  • 20 to 29
  • 30 to 39
  • 40 to 49
  • 50 to 59
  • 60 to 65
  • 66 and above
Where can I find information about race day parking, transportation and hotel accommodations?

Check back closer to the race for more information on race day parking.

Hotel accommodations can be made through our partner, Hotel Planner, here.

Do you have a finish festival?

Yes! The Finish Festival will take place at the Leader Bank Pavilion after the race from 10:15am – 12:00pm. Participants, friends, and family are welcome to join us for music, beer garden (21+), food and more!

How do I register?

Register by clicking here.

What are your registration options?
  • We will have general registration options for the 5K and Youth 100 meter dash
  • We will have a 5K VIP option - fundraise the $150 entry fee or pay it up front
When will registration close?

It will close the morning of the race or at sellout, whichever comes first. Walk-up registration will be available on race day if the event has not sold out.

I registered but cannot attend, can I get a refund, deferral, or transfer my registration?

No, we do not offer refunds, deferrals, or transfer of registrations.  

BIB PICK UP

When is bib pick up?

Race morning starting at 8:30am

Where is bib pick up?

Leader Bank Pavilion, 290 Northern Ave., Boston

When will I get my bib number?

Bib numbers will be assigned dynamically when you check it. We do not pre-set bib numbers.  

Can someone else pick up my bib for me?

No, all participants must pick up their own bibs.

Will you mail me my bib?

No, we do not mail bibs. 

When will I receive my participant t-shirt?

At bib pick up race morning

COURSE

Do you have aid stations on course?

There will be a water station at mile 2

What will you have at aid stations on course?

Water

Will you have restrooms on course?

No.

Is there medical on course?

There is medical at the start/finish line.

Do you have pace teams?

No.

FUNDRAISING

Is fundraising required to participate?

Fundraising is NOT required for participants who paid their entry fee, however, all participants will receive a fundraising page when you register. If you sign up using the 5K VIP entry with fundraising option, you are committing to a $150 minimum requirement. Fundraising rewards are available to all those fundraising for The McCourt Foundation.

What if I don’t meet my fundraising requirement?

If you do not meet the requirement within 2 weeks following the race date, your credit card will be charged the difference.

If I paid my entry but choose to fundraise, will be card be charged if I don’t meet the fundraising goal?

No, your card will not be charged if the optional fundraising goal isn’t met.

How do I pick up my rewards for fundraising?

All participants who reached a fundraising reward level ($300 and above) who are eligible (excludes those participating on a Non-Profit Partner team) may visit the rewards table at check-in and during the finish festival to redeem their rewards.
