Ari's Tip: "The last .2 miles feels like the hardest but it’s all mental! I don’t give up, I push through because there’s a medal and that “marathoner” title waiting 🙂 "
Delia's Tip: "I feel wearing headphones my 1st time didn’t allow me take in all the cheering & fun we come across the course; it really helps you be more present in the race w/o them!"
Jalisa's Tip: "You'll find me dancing at every spot that’s playing music - keeps the vibes high."
Jesse's Tip: "Have fun! I like to train for time goals, but I remind myself that I am here for the running community."
Jonathan's Tip: "I savor every second of the experience. The electric crowd is there to cheer US on!"
Justine's Tip: "Training is a long-term process, so I try to make sure I'm getting enough rest and drinking enough water, one day/week at a time - not just for race day."
Mohamed's Tip: "I implement Strength Training into my weekly routine. This helps build stronger & stable legs."
Mo's Tip: "Around mile 15, the marathon shifts from physical to mental. That’s when I mix it up, I'll call a friend, play a game with my pace group, or swap music for a podcast."
Priscilla's Tip: "I like to switch it up during marathon training and do hill intervals on the trails and road during to be better prepared for the hills on the course!"
Rizzo's Tip: "I love visiting run clubs because there are so many runners to inspire and remind them to believe in themselves."
Steve's Tip: "My favorite way to train is by challenging my mind. I often run without music to challenge my focus. It’s a mental game. My thoughts dictate my run."
Stina's Tip: "I always remember that this is supposed to be fun! Smile, dance, and thank your body for all the amazing things it can do!"
Talia's Tip: "I train with the LARR! Coach David’s guidance helped me break a 12 year PR and take 30 minutes off of my LA Marathon time from the previous year!"
Tamar's Tip: "I like to believe in that LA Marathon magic and find a friend at the start. Someone new that I can keep up with!"
