The McCourt Family has
a long-standing history with neurological diseases, it's
something they have lived their entire lives. Long before any
one of the seven brothers were born, their father was
diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.
After being diagnosed in the prime of his life and after
fighting the disease for 42 years, he finally succumbed to
it at the age of 67. Soon after his death, their mother was
diagnosed with Alzheimer's and currently faces the daily
challenges of this devastating disease.
For the past 17 years, the McCourt family and their
committee of colleagues and friends have run successful fund
raising events which include The McCourt Gala and Auction, a
Scientific Symposium and a Summer Road Race/Walk, raising
and donating well over a million dollars in research. |
